3 Dec – It was previously reported that director Ron Howard and "The Da Vinci Code" star Tom Hanks will begin filming for the third instalment in the movie series next April, and now word has it that "Spider-Man" actress Felicity Jones might be joining the duo in the production.
The 31-year-old English actress is currently in talks to star opposite Hanks in "Inferno", for the role of doctor Sienna Brooks, as reported by Deadline.
"Inferno" will be an adaptation of the fourth book in the famous Dan Brown novel series. However, Howard opts to make it the third film following "The Da Vinci Code" and "Angels & Demons", bypassing the third book "The Lost Symbol".
In "Inferno", Langdon suffers from memory loss but is forced to stop an evil genius, who is obsessed with Dante's Inferno, before the latter releases a global plague. Jones will be playing the heroine who helps Langdon escape from a contract killer.
Jones was in two big movies this year, appearing as Felicia Hardy in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" and Jane Wilde Hawking in "The Theory of Everything", a biographical drama film on famed physicist Stephen Hawking based on his ex-wife Jane's memoir "Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen".
Jones will appear next in 2014's "True Story" and "Autobahn" as well as 2015's "A Monster Calls" and 2016's "Rosaline".
"The Da Vinci Code" opened at number one in North American cinemas on 19 May 2006 and have to date grossed USD758 million worldwide, while "Angels & Demons" also placed the same on its 15 May 2009 release and have since collected USD485 million worldwide.
"Inferno" will be heating up the big screens on 18 December 2015.
