Matt Damon returns to "Bourne"

Matt Damon bore the Bourne title again.

10 Nov – Matt Damon gave a spark of hope to his "Bourne" fans when back in December 2012, the actor revealed that he and director Paul Greengrass were planning on returning to the franchise. Fast forward nearly two years later, Damon's words are finally coming true.

Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass are coming back to work on their third "Bourne" movie together, ComingSoon.net reports.

Damon started his journey as CIA assassin Jason Bourne in 2002's "The Bourne Identity", which was directed by Doug Liman. Greengrass took over as director in 2004's "The Bourne Supremacy" as well as 2007's "The Bourne Ultimatum".

The upcoming collaboration will mark the third time Damon and Greengrass will work together on a "Bourne" movie. It will be the fifth movie in the series, after 2012's "The Bourne Legacy", which did not feature Damon as the titular character. "Legacy", starring Jeremy Renner as main character Alex Cross and directed by Tony Gilroy, received mixed responses in the cinemas and did not fare as well as the first three films in the series.

However, a sequel is still planned for "Legacy". Originally slated for a July 2016 release, the sequel has now reportedly been moved to a later date to make way for Damon's "Bourne" movie.

Damon can currently be seen on the big screen in Christopher Nolan's sci-fi adventure film, "Interstellar".
