8 May - "The Amazing Spider-Man 2", the long awaited sequel to the popular superhero reboot starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone has managed to be the number one film watched last weekend (1 - 4 May) in Malaysia, Singapore and in the U.S.! "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" also features Jamie Foxx and Dane DeHaan as the lead villains this time, as Peter Parker has mysterious company Oscorp sending a slew of supervillains against him, impacting his life. Last week's number one movie for Singapore and Malaysia, "Brick Mansions" is taken down by the big superhero franchise and is now resting at the number two spot. Meanwhile in the U.S., "The Other Woman" starring Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann and Kate Upton hangs by the second spot instead.
In Malaysia and Singapore, however, "The Other Woman" graces the third place at the box office charts, but "Heaven is Real" which is based on a best-selling book about a small town father who must find the courage to share his son's extraordinary and life changing experience, takes the third spot in the U.S. Other new movies that opened in Malaysia last week are "The Midnight After", "A Case of You", "Bahaya Cinta", "Nee Enge En Anbe" and "Set Apart". Other new movies that opened in Singapore last week are "One Chance", "Alien Abduction", "Nee Enge En Anbe", "Devil's Knot" and "Ennamo Yedho".
