2 Sep – Placing number one on the chart for the third weekend now, "Straight Outta Compton" is on a roll as it emerged victorious over the newly released Christian drama "War Room" in North America. The hip hop biopic has garnered another USD13.1 million, adding to a total grossing of USD134 million domestically against a budget of USD28 million. "War Room" which is the fifth film project of Alex Kendrick and his brother Stephen Kendrick – debuted at number two with a total collection of USD11.3 million while "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" slided down to third place, collecting only USD8.1 million in North America.
In Malaysia, "Hitman: Agent 47" managed to stay first on the chart despite the criticism over the plot, followed by Pixar's critically acclaimed animation "Inside Out" at second place. "Sinister 2" finally climbed up to third place at the Malaysia weekend chart, since the previous week it didn't manage to secure any of the top three spots during its opening week. Meanwhile, "Inside Out" opened first at Singapore's weekend box office chart, followed by "Hitman: Agent 47" and "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" in second and third place respectively. Last weekend, Malaysia also saw the releases of new movies; "Athibar", "Thaakka Thaakka", "Thani Oruvan", "Faraar", "Selfie", "Vacation", "Bukit Kepong", "Our Sister Mambo", "Attack on Titan – Part 1", "Hubble", "Jejak Warriors", "Undercover Duet" and "Knock Knock! Who's There?". Singapore's new releases last weekend include; "Athibar", "Thaakka Thaakka", "Thani Oruvan", "New Initial D The Movie: Legend 2 – Racer", "No Escape", "Woman in Gold', "Amy" and "The Gallows".
