Kamal Haasan to make MH370 film

Kamal Haasan gears up for his next movie.

12 Mar – Tamil movie star Kamal Haasan's next movie will allegedly be based on the tragic disappearance of Malaysia Airlines MH370; the flight that went missing on 8 March last year while en route from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Beijing, China.

According to Indian news portal I Luv Cinema, production on the movie is expected to begin this April. Choreographer and actor Prabhu Deva will reportedly be the one helming the project, with Haasan starring in the lead role.

Raj Kamal Films International, the film production and distribution company founded and headed by Haasan himself, will reportedly be producing. There are currently no further details on the rest of the cast as well as the screenwriter and release date for the movie.

There is a possibility for the movie to be banned in Malaysia, if the venture ever gets off the ground, due to its sensitive issue. Though it will not be the first time for the actor's movie to be banned from being shown in the country, as previously, his 2012's "Vishwaroopam" was on the verge of ending up on the ban list as well before finally given the permission to play in cinemas.

Haasan currently has three movies set for release this year, "Uttama Villain", "Papanasam" and "Vishwaroopam 2".
