Kay Shan is confident his action movie will attract audiences.

12 Oct – Director Kay Shan's sophomore directorial effort will be a Malay movie called "Mama & Macha", which is expected to be released in March next year.

The movie, which will be wrapping up filming soon, is an action comedy that features veteran actress Ruminah Sidek. Ruminah, or more affectionately known as Mak Mah, is starring as the titular Mama.

"This time I want to show a different side of Mak Mah that has never been seen by the audiences as she will also be doing actions such as fighting, riding a motorcycle and driving fast," said Kay Shan, as quoted by Sinar Harian.

Meanwhile, the actor-director will be starring as titular character, Macha.

He expressed his awe with the commitment given by Mak Mah in filming the movie, and added that though the production budget may be small, which is less than a million, he will still give his best in order to make the audiences feel satisfied with his movie.

He is also confident that action comedies are still relevant and will receive a good response despite the uncertainty currently faced by the movie industry.

In "Mama & Macha", a widow (Mama) tries to investigate her husband's death. She joins a private investigator group, where she receives assistance from her teammate Macha.
