6 Sep – The annual Malaysian Film Festival celebrated its 27th edition yesterday, 5 September 2015 at Plenary Hall, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), with "Lelaki Harapan Dunia" named as the Best Film of the night!

Apart from being named as Best Film, the film also took home four other awards including Best Director and Best Original Story via Liew Seng Tat, Best Child Actor for Rykarl Iskandar, and Best Art Design for Tunku Mohd Taufek and Tunku Tommy Mansur during the officiating night.

Liew Seng Tat also won Best Director at FFM 27.

"I'm very thankful and proud of my team. I feel very inspired," said Liew Seng Tat, the director of "Lelaki Harapan Dunia" who has grabbed two awards at the festival. "I didn't expect this at all, I didn't even prepare my speech."

Rykarl Iskandar brought in another award for "Lelaki Harapan Dunia" for Best Child Actor.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian Chinese film "The Journey" followed closely behind as the second biggest winner of the night with a total of four awards; Best Non-Malay Film, Best Actor for Lee Sai Peng, Best Cinematography for Eric Yeong, and Box Office Film award.

"Terbaik Dari Langit" won three awards at the ceremony; Best Supporting Actor and Actress for Amirul Afendi and Nadiya Nisaa respectively, and a Special Jury award, while "Amir & Loqman Pergi ke Laut", "Ophilia", "Manisnya Cinta di Cappadocia" and "Hungry Ghost Ritual" – all took home two awards each.

The prestigious award ceremony was hosted by Nabil Raja Lawak and Sherry Alhadad with performances from Joe Flizzow featuring SonaOne, Misha Omar, Najwa Mahiaddin and others.

Joe Flizzow and SonaOne provided entertainment for the night.

Najwa Mahaiddin was also there to serenade audiences.

Amy Search performed a medley of songs.
