19 Dec – After the box office success of the first and second "Ip Man" films, producer Raymond Wong hopes that the third film will also achieve the same amount of success. When met recently at the promotional event of "Ip Man 3" at JW Mariott Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, the producer said that he hopes the film can at least make more that RM20 million in Malaysian box office. "Of course we hope that it would perform well. We hope that it can at least exceed RM20 million," said producer Raymond Wong who attended the interview along with the movie's stars, Donnie Yen and Lynn Xiong.
Even though the movie will be released around the same month as "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", the producer is still confident that the movie will do well. "The movie ("Ip Man 3") is definitely going to be even better than the first two films because we have been given an ample amount of time to improve ourselves," the producer added. "Ip Man 3" opens nationwide cinemas on 24 December 2015. The story sees the return of Ip Man as he faces a new foe played by Mike Tyson, who wants to destroy the local Chinese school.
