"Tron 3" no longer happening

No "Tron 3" for Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund.

31 May – Unfortunately for fans who have been looking forward to "Tron 3", the third instalment of the "Tron" movie series will not be coming to theatres anytime soon.

Disney has decided to drop the project, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which was supposed to start filming in Vancouver on 5 October this year.

"Tron 3" would have seen "Tron: Legacy" leads Garrett Hedlund (Sam Flynn) and Olivia Wilde (Quorra) reunited on the big screen, with director Joseph Kosinski once again directing the pair.

The trio's 2010 movie was a sequel to 1982's "Tron". The sequel received mixed review from the critics but still went on to make USD400 million globally, including USD3.1 million from Malaysia and USD2 million from Singapore.

Wilde will be seen next in 2015 movies "Meadowland" and "Let It Snow", while Hedlund will appear in 2015's "Mojave" and "Pan" as well as 2016's "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk".
