25 Feb – As is the norm when it comes to the animated "Kung Fu Panda" movie series, a Cantonese version of "Kung Fu Panda 3" will also be released in cinemas here. Jackie Chan and Eason Chan return as part of the voice cast, with Eason voicing Po for the third time while Jackie Chan this time voices Po's father, Li. With Jackie no longer voicing the Chinese version of Monkey, singer Jay Chou, who will also be singing the movie's theme song, steps in for the part in his first voice role in an animated movie. Though the previous two instalments of the "Po-pular" movie had been dubbed in Cantonese before, this is, however, the first time for the Cantonese version to be fully animated independent to the English version. This means that in this Cantonese version, the production have animated the characters' lip movements to match the language, instead of just layering the Cantonese dialogues on top of the original English version of the movie. Having been released earlier in the U.S. (English version) and China, (Cantonese version), based on Box Office Mojo stats, "Kung Fu Panda 3" has made USD296 million and USD142 million in the respective countries. "Kung Fu Panda 3" Cantonese version will be released in Malaysia in 2D, alongside the English version, this 10 March.
