RM15 million for "BoBoiBoy The Movie"

"BoBoiBoy The Movie" finds success at the local box office.

29 Mar – Within just 25 days of showing in cinemas, "BoBoiBoy The Movie" has already crossed the RM15 million mark.

The movie adaptation of the popular TV series of the same name is catching up to the collection of Chiu Keng Guan's "Ola Bola", which currently has more than RM15.8 million after two months of screening.

When asked about the movie's success, CEO of Animonsta Studios Nizam Razak said to Cinema Online via phone that it could be attributed to the fact that "BoBoiBoy" already has a strong fanbase.

"We already have fans in a few countries," said Nizam. "Also, the reviews that we've read say that the storyline is interesting and suitable for the whole family. For the kids, the parents and even teenagers."

The movie has also been receiving strong, on-going promotions that further propel its appeal to the market.

In "BoBoiBoy The Movie", BoboiBoy and his super friends are off to save Ochobot, who has been kidnapped by a group of alien treasure hunters called The Tengkotak that wants to use him to search for an ancient "Power Sphere".

"BoBoiBoy The Movie" has been showing in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei since earlier this month and will soon be released in Indonesia on 13 April 2016.
