25 May – Fox has been looking for a villain to appear opposite the Regenerating Degenerate in the sequel. They've reportedly been searching for a while, and they've finally found the perfect actor for just that. According to Deadline, Jack Kesy from "The Strain" has been cast as the major villain of "Deadpool 2". Exactly which villain Kesy will play in the movie was not confirmed, but the outlet's sources have mentioned a character known as Black Tom, one of the supervillains in the Deadpool comics. In the comics, Black Tom (real name: Thomas Cassidy) is a mutant from Dublin who can create concussive blasts of force or heat using wood, his preferred medium being a shillelagh.
"Deadpool 2" is being helmed by David Leitch with Ryan Reynolds returning to reprise his role as the titular Merc with a Mouth. Other actors returning for the sequel are Morena Baccarin as Deadpool's love interest, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Stefan Kapicic as the mutant Colossus, Brianna Hildebrand as the Negasonic Teenage Warhead and T.J. Miller as Deadpool's friend Weasel. For the sequel, Josh Brolin has been cast to play Cable, a mutant that often partnered up with Deadpool, and Zazie Beetz is cast as the mutant mercenary Domino. Kesy, the newest addition to the cast, is best known for his role as the creepy vampire gothic rock star, Gabriel Bolivar, in the TV series "The Strain". He will be seen next in "Baywatch" as a henchman of Victoria Leeds (Priyanka Chopra). "Deadpool 2" will be released on 1 June 2018 in the U.S. and principal filming will begin June this year in Vancouver.
