7 Apr – Oscar-nominated actor, Demian Bichir, has just signed on to star in the newest spin-off of "The Conjuring'", titled "The Nun". The Hollywood Reporter reports that Bichir will play Father Burke, a priest dispatched by Rome to investigate the case of a nun's mysterious death. While plot details are being kept under wraps, many assume that "The Nun" will be covering the back-story of the habit-wearing demon in "The Conjuring 2" that helped scare up over USD320 million for the movie last year. Bichir is known for getting Oscar-nominated for his performance in "A Better Life" back in 2012. He also starred as Bob in Quentin Tarantino's "The Hateful Eight" and will be making an appearance on the big screen in May in the upcoming "Alien: Covenant". For this instalment of "The Conjuring" franchise, Corin Hardy will be helming as director. James Wan and Peter Safran will be playing a big part in this film, as they did in the previous "Conjuring" films, this time as producers. Wan also co-wrote the script for "The Nun" along with Gary Dauberman. Before this, "The Conjuring" had also generated another spin-off, "Anabelle", with its sequel, "Annabelle: Creation", coming to theatres this year. "The Nun," meanwhile, has been confirmed to release in North America in July 2018. Shooting for the film will take place in Romania this summer.
