Postponed again, "Amityville: The Awakening" is cursed?

We may never get to see Bella Thorne in "Amityville: The Awakening" on the big screen.

8 Jun – We're starting to think that the movie "Amityville: The Awakening" may actually be cursed since its release date has been rescheduled for the sixth time now since it wrapped up principal photography back in 2014.

The Bella Thorne starrer was meant to be released on 30 June in the U.S., just a few weeks away, but yesterday the movie's main distributor Dimension Films announced that the movie will not be showing on the specified date and that a new release date is yet to be determined.

Originally, the Blumhouse Production film was to be released on 2 January 2015, but then it was rescheduled to 15 April 2016.

Later, the release date was pushed forward to 1 April 2016 before it was once again delayed until 6 January 2017.

Then recently it was pushed back to 30 June 2017.

According to Bloody Disgusting, the release date was rescheduled many times due to several reasons, such as unfavourable test screening responses and production issues, but who knows what the reason was behind the most recent rescheduling?

Previously, there was an issue with the movie's international poster as well, in which Dread Central reported that an "unnamed international distributor" had edited the poster using imagery from the 2016 horror movie "The Possession Experiment".

Then Desiree Connell, the production manager of "The Possession Experiment" took to the comments section of Dread Central and said, "This is literally [exact] imagery from our film.".

Apparently, this was all done without the approval of Dimension Films who quickly addressed the issue via the website and said that they had no intentions of using the imagery.

"Amityville: The Awakening" is the tenth instalment in the "Amityville" franchise and the nineteenth movie to be based on the infamous haunted house.

The movie was directed by Franck Khalfoun and was written by Daniel Farrands and Casey La Scala.

It is about a young girl named Belle who unknowingly moves into the haunted house with her single mother, younger sister and comatose twin brother. Strange phenomena begin to occur in the house, including the miraculous recovery of her brother.

No new release date has been announced and, at this point, you have to wonder if it will ever see the light of the silver screen.
