17 Oct – The highly anticipated action drama "Tombiruo: Penunggu Rimba" has already hit nationwide cinemas beginning 12 October, and it certainly does not disappoint with its grossing of RM2 million in just four days of screening. Showing in 115 cinemas nationwide including Brunei and Singapore, with positive response from the public, the film that is adapted from Malaysia's number one thriller novel of the same name by Ramlee Awang Murshid also places second on Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) Top 10 Movies list. This victory manages to push aside international blockbuster films such as "Blade Runner 2049", "Kingsman: The Golden Circle", and "The Foreigner". "I thank God that although the collections in the local film industry are rather unpredictable at the moment, "Tombiruo: Penunggu Rimba" is still being well-received by most audiences. "We appreciate all the supports and comments from our viewers. I on behalf of the production company encourage those who have watched the movie to further invite their friends and family to watch it in the cinemas," Executive Producer of Layar Sunan and novelist Ramlee Awang Murshid said in a statement. Directed by Seth Larney alongside associated helmer Nasir Jani, "Tombiruo: Penunggu Rimba" centres on Ejim, also known as Tombiruo, who is alienated by fellow villagers for having an unhuman-like face. When a tragic incident takes place, Tombiruo is left feeling enraged and out for revenge. Produced by Astro Shaw, the film features a strong ensemble cast, which includes Zul Ariffin, Farid Kamil, Nabila Huda, Dato' M. Nasir, Faizal Hussein, Dynas Mokhtar and Hasnul Rahmat.
