Channing Tatum announces separation from Jenna Dewan

After nine years of marriage, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan are calling it quits.

3 Apr – When everything seems to be going fine in Tinseltown, fans of Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan are shocked when the Hollywood couple announced that they are calling it quits.

The former couple simultaneously posted a lengthy statement on their respective social media pages this morning, announcing that the two will separate after nine years of marriage.

"Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now," the statement reads.

"There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision – just two best-friends realizing it's time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible," they said in their joint statement.

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan both tweeted out a statement regarding their split.

Fans of Tatum and Dewan expressed their disbeliefs on social media with some even hoping that it was part of an elaborate prank, knowing that April Fool's Day just passed.

Tatum and Dewan have one daughter together, Everly, who will turn five this May.

The once married couple began dating when they met on the set of 2006's "Step Up" before tying the knot in 2009.

They were last seen together at the recent Kids' Choice Awards on 24 March, where Tatum went on stage to promote his new animated movie, "Smallfoot".
