10 May – Fans of the "Fast And Furious" franchise would have to wait a little longer for its spinoff movie, "Hobbs and Shaw", to come out as it has pushed back its release date by a week. Universal Pictures has announced that "Hobbs and Shaw" is pumping its brakes and delaying its 26 July 2019 U.S. release date to 2 August 2019, according to /Film. The movie will now coincide with "The New Mutants" and "Dora the Explorer", which are both scheduled to come out that same day. Details on why the sudden move was made are not clear but it is presumably to avoid the lasting power of Disney's "The Lion King", which has made plenty of buzz since its casting announcement. "Hobbs and Shaw" is a spinoff from the "Fast And Furious" franchise which will follow Dwayne Johnson's and Jason Statham's characters, Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw respectively, on another action-filled adventure. The movie is being directed by David Leitch off of a script by Chris Morgan, who wrote all of the "Fast And Furious" scripts since the fifth movie.
