5 Dec – One of Kevin Hart's lifelong goals is about to be met as the actor-comedian is set to be the host of the 91st Academy Awards. Hart shared the good news on his social media, stating, "For years I have been asked if I would ever Host the Oscars and my answer was always the same..." "I said that it would be the opportunity of a lifetime for me as a comedian and that it will happen when it's supposed to," the post continued. "I am so happy to say that the day has finally come for me to host the Oscars." The official Twitter account of the Academy Awards retweeted Hart's post, with the caption: "Welcome to the family!" Hart takes over the job from Jimmy Kimmel, who hosted the 2017 and 2018 Oscars. Kimmel posted a congratulatory tweet, saying that Hart will "kill it" at next year's Oscars. Host of the 2016 Oscars, Chris Rock, also chimed in on Instagram, joking that he's "lost another job to Kevin Hart". The 91st Academy Awards will be held on 24 February 2019 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. (Photo source: The Academy's Twitter)
