"Avengers: Endgame" sets record as fastest movie to pass USD2 billion

"Avengers: Endgame" is creeping up on "Avatar" fast with its worldwide box office earnings.

6 May – If the previous record holder needed close to two months to pass the USD2 billion mark, "Avengers: Endgame" needed only close to two weeks.

The 22nd movie of the MCU is now officially the fastest movie to reach the milestone, doing so in just 11 days of screening.

"Avatar" previously held that title, but the 2009 James Cameron-helmed movie took 47 days to do so.

At the speedy rate that "Avengers: Endgame" is amassing its box office collection, it looks like it's about to beat "Avatar" for another title.

Based on Box Office Mojo stats, the fourth "Avengers" movie is now the second highest-grossing movie of all time with its USD2.189 billion box office collection. "Avatar" still holds first place with its USD2.78 billion.

However, since "Avengers: Endgame" still has a pretty long stretch of screenings in cinemas, there's a possibility that it might make yet another billion and overtakes "Avatar" as the highest-grossing movie of all time.

At the moment, there are only five movies that have crossed the USD2 billion milestone worldwide. Aside from the aforementioned two, there are also "Titanic" with USD2.187 billion, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" with USD2.06 billion), and "Avengers: Infinity War" with USD2.04 billion.

Anthony and Joe Russo announcing that they are officially lifting the spoiler ban.

Those who have not seen "Avengers: Endgame", you've entered spoiler territory now. As of today, directors Russo Brothers have lifted their "spoiler ban", which they set prior to the premiere of the movie to avoid spoiling fans' experience while watching it.

Since the internet was unfortunately already flooded with spoilers anyway even while the ban was in place, it'll be total spoiler mayhem now that the ban is lifted and everyone is free to post whatever they wish to reveal regarding the movie.
