Rami Malek might still be the villain for "Bond 25"

Oscar-winning Rami Malek is still being eyed for the main "Bond 25" villain role.

28 Feb - Now that he's got an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a BAFTA Best Actor accolades attached to his name, Rami Malek is an even hotter commodity in the Hollywood circle.

The actor has long been eyed for the role of the main villain in the upcoming "Bond 25" but scheduling clash with the final season of "Mr. Robot" put a halt to that.

Now, Variety is reporting that there is "renewed interest" in landing the actor for the role.

While the producers have been meeting other actors, they are still keen on working with Malek and have been working hard to accommodate the filming of both the movie and the TV series.

Aside from the main villain, the producers are also currently searching for an American CIA agent similar to Jeffrey Wright's Felix Leiter character in previous instalments and two female roles, one as a new M16 agent and the other an accomplice similar to Olga Kurylenko's Camille Montes character in "Quantum of Solace".

Reportedly, Billy Magnussen is director Cary Fukunaga's top choice to play the CIA Agent that crosses path with Bond.

So far, the confirmed cast members for "Bond 25" are, of course, Daniel Craig as James Bond as well as Lea Seydoux, Ralph Fiennes, and Naomie Harris who will also be reprising their respective roles.

"Bond 25" is set to open in North American cinemas on 8 April 2020, having been moved recently from its previous Valentine's Day release.
