4 May – Gotta fix fast. Following's fans dissatisfaction over Sonic's character design as seen in the recently released trailer for "Sonic the Hedgehog", director Jeff Fowler was quick to take to social media and appease the upset mob. "Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear... you aren't happy with the design & you want changes," Fowler posted on his Twitter. "It's going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be..." No doubt the director has seen the plethora of memes that have surfaced after the trailer's release. Some of fans' concerns over the design flaws include the disproportionate legs (which makes the character look a lot like a lanky person dressed in a cheap costume instead of a big-budgeted computer graphic design) and the disconcerting human teeth.
Some also joked about the lack of genitalia, though this maybe doesn't need to be addressed. Sonic can just take the Winnie the Pooh route. (Hey, Pooh has a shirt, Sonic has a pair of shoes). The movie, which features Ben Schwartz as Sonic's voice, has Jim Carrey starring as Dr. Robotnik and James Marsden as Tom Wachowski. Fowler and his team will really have to fix this fast as "Sonic the Hedgehog" is racing onto the big screen this November. (Photo source: Edward Pun's Twitter)
