Chiu Keng Guan's movie to open in 10,900 cinemas in China

Chiu Keng Guan's "Think Big Big" is opening in China this week.

22 May – "Think Big Big" is about to make its grand debut in China's cinemas, as the Chiu Keng Guan-directed movie is set to make the biggest release yet for a Malaysian title in the country.

This 24 May, the movie will open in China in 10,900 locations and 60,079 silver screens.

"As a Malaysian film maker, I am excited about this golden opportunity to share "Think Big Big" with cinemagoers in China. I hope the movie will touch their hearts too as it has in Malaysia," said director Chiu in a press statement.

"We are living in an era of where many are seeking for popularity in social media. "Think Big Big" offers an honest and humorous look at how it can change us. I hope it encourages us to cherish our time with family and friends, and most importantly, learn to love and accept yourself," he added.

"Think Big Big" follows Moon's fitness journey on social media.

The Mandarin-language movie tells of a confident plus-sized girl named Moon who dreams of becoming an astronaut but due to her debts, she is forced to participate in a competition that requires her to post about her fitness journey on social media.

"Think Big Big" was released in cinemas across Malaysia and Brunei in February last year and collected more than RM5.4million at the box office.
