Just as Carnage promised in "Venom", he is returning for the sequel

Carnage's appearance was teased in the mid-credits scene of 2018's "Venom".

29 Aug – One of the most exciting things that have come out of "Venom" was the possibility of Cletus Kasady a.k.a. Carnage being the main villain in the movie's upcoming sequel.

His appearance in the 2018 movie was a brief one but fans have been looking forward to his return. Looks like now they can rejoice as it seems that their wish is coming true.

While Sony has not dropped any official announcement, "Venom 2" cinematographer, the Oscar-winning Robert Richardson, let slip in an interview with Collider that Woody Harrelson will be making "his own little entrance here".

He didn't divulge further but he didn't have to, as Kasady was portrayed by Harrelson in 2018's "Venom", it's safe to assume Harrelson will reprise his role as the deranged serial killer who's a host of the Carnage symbiote.

After all, in the mid-credits scene, the incarcerated Kasady did promise that "There's going to be carnage" once he gets out.

Sony might be having a little trouble with Disney right now over future "Spider-Man" movies, but at least "Venom 2" is shaping up to a great project. Motion capture maestro Andy Serkis will be directing, so fans are hoping that this time Tom Hardy will get to utilise the technology when he returns as Eddie Brock a.k.a. Venom.

Michelle Williams is also expected to be back as Anne Weying in the sequel, which is slated for release in North America on 2 October 2020.

This will give the Jared Leto-starring "Morbius the Living Vampire" some time to rake in profits at the box office when it opens on 31 July 2020.

It's been rumoured that the third "Venom" movie will feature both Carnage and Spider-Man. Since Tom Holland still has a couple of Spidey movies on his Sony contract, looks like the threequel will be an extravaganza starring Hardy, Harrelson and Holland. But "Venom 2" will have to do well first before there can be further talks on "Venom 3".
