Hong Kong's ATV to build Asian entertainment empire in Malaysia

26 Feb – Hong Kong's Asia Television Holding Limited (ATV) is aiming to grow its online presence with the formation of Asia Momentum Entertainment (AME).

Singaporean actor-director Jack Neo has been appointed as the Global CEO and acting Singapore's principal of the newly established ATV subsidiary.

Also part of the top management are Malaysia's Dato Sri Jessy Lai, ATV Co-chairman; Hong Kong's Mr. Deng Junjie, ATV Co-chairman; veteran media practitioner Dr. Argus Lee, AME Taiwan's Deputy CEO; World Champion of Harmonica Kif Valentine, AME Malaysia's General Manager; and veteran actor Frankie Lam, AME Hong Kong's Deputy CEO.

At the press conference held earlier today at Glasshouse at Seputeh, it was revealed that AME aims to build an Asian entertainment empire in Malaysia.

Dato Sri Jessy Lai said that AME plans to establish a film and television city in the country, which will mainly target for development potential and economic benefits brought by entertainment business opportunities.

She also expressed hopes that it will become a platform for discovering global talents, who will then drive the development of the entertainment industry via AME.

Referring to Jack Neo's appointment as AME's Global CEO, she said, "He has extensive experience in producing film and television programmes. I believe more talented people will be able to fulfill their dreams under his leadership."


AME hopes to find new talents through its establishment.

With nearly 30 years of experience in the entertainment industry, Jack Neo will be focusing on developing TV series, movies and variety shows to help aspiring talents through AME.

Currently, AME is encouraging anyone with ideas for materials that can be included on its over-the-top (OTT) media service, AME App, to approach the team for discussion.

AME App is expected to make its official global launch in Hong Kong this 28 June.
