24 Nov – Even though Dadi Cinema's first location in Malaysia has yet to open, the China-based film exhibitor has announced that it will be opening yet another new local cinema. "Our next location for #LilSTAR! See you soon at Da Men Mall in 2021!", it was posted on Dadi Cinema's Facebook just hours ago. Lil STAR refers to the cinema's "kid-friendly hall that comes with playgrounds and adorable seats", as described by the Lil STAR mascot, a tiger-looking astronaut from Planet Furball who travelled the galaxy looking for the best cinema and has in the end decided to stay on Earth at Dadi Cinema. There is no confirmed opening date yet, it is only known at the moment that the Da Men location will open next year and it will be located on the fourth floor of the mall.
Meanwhile, just three days ago, Dadi Cinema posted on its Facebook photos showing off the signages for its Pavilion KL location. News of Dadi Cinema opening its first location at Pavilion KL broke earlier this year, after the mall announced that the previous GSC location there would cease operations from 17 February 2020 onwards. Dadi Cinema Pavilion KL was originally scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2020 but the plan was hampered by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused cinemas in Malaysia to be shuttered since 18 March, before reopening in July, and now temporarily closed again since this 1 November.
