18 Dec – Malaysian Film Producers Association is urging the government to take a more decisive action against online piracy. The association's Vice President Burhanuddin Md Radzi, stated In an interview recently that they were very concerned over the recent widespread practice of illegally downloading and distributing copyrighted content digitally, especially through various platforms including Facebook and YouTube.
Burhanuddin, who is also the Managing Director of Les' Copaque Production - the company that became the latest victim of this illegal activity after its latest film, "Upin Ipin: Keris Siamang Tunggal" was uploaded online, stated that they have already identify several individuals involved in the case. The company has also decided to take legal action as a lesson to others to not repeat the same offence.
