24 Feb – As the organiser for the 31st Malaysia Film Festival, or Filem Festival Malaysia ke-31 (FFM 31), the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) has agreed to extend the submission date for the festival to this Friday, 28 February. The announcement was made via FINAS' official Facebook, to allow more local movies to be submitted for the five competing categories, which are Feature Film, Documentary Film, Animated Feature Film, Short Film and Digital Film. Previously, Rozita Waty Ridzuan, a member of FFM's jury selection committee, revealed at the press conference for FFM 31 at FINAS Hulu Kelang that a total of 32 categories will be in competition this year. Among these are Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Screenplay, Best Original Story and for the first time, Best Makeup.
