5 May – If anybody is still holding up hope that Andrew Garfield will be donning his Spider-Man costume again for the upcoming movie, "Spider-Man: No Way Home", we're sorry to tell you that the actor is passionately saying no. The actor recently addressed rumours that both he and fellow Spidey actor Tobey Maguire will be appearing in the Tom Holland web-slinger movie in a podcast with MTV's Josh Horowitz, and laughed when Horowitz asked if his question about Garfield's appearance could ruin the movie's secret.
"There is nothing to ruin," he said. "It's hilarious to me because I have this Twitter account and I see how often Spider-Man is trending and it's like people freaking out about a thing and I'm just like, 'guys, guys, guys'... I wish I could just be able to speak to everyone and say, 'I recommend that you chill.'" Rumours of him and Maguire appearing in the movie sparked as early as October last year, after Jamie Foxx, who played Electro in Garfield's "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" and who will appear in the Tom Holland movie, shared an Instagram post that showed the three Spider-Man together. Garfield's stunt double from his first Spidey movie also posted a photo of him on the set of "No Way Home", fuelling the rumours even further. Both had since deleted the posts. It still didn't help matters because Alfred Molina, who played villain Doctor Octopus in Maguire's Spidey movie, will be back in Holland's movie.
Garfield stated that he couldn't speak for others, but that he himself hasn't received "the call", and that he should have received the call by now if the studio was going to have him and Maguire in the movie. The actor added that he felt like he was in the game of "Werewolf" where the players have to convince each other they are not the werewolf.
