3 Dec – Universal recently announced two more stars to be joining Nicholas Hoult in the upcoming movie "Renfield", which revolves around Dracula's titular henchman. Actor Nicolas Cage, who was last seen on "Pig", will be playing Dracula himself, while another role has been given to "Shang-Chi" star Awkwafina, though there is no word yet as to what her character would be. "I am insanely excited for this," said the actress on Instagram.
The upcoming movie, which is described as a modern-day adventure with a comedic tone, will be directed by Chris McKay of "The Tomorrow War" fame, with Ryan Ridley ("Rick and Morty") writing the script. In the original Dracula novel, R.M. Renfield was an inmate at a lunatic asylum thought to be suffering from delusions but actually is a servant of Dracula. Aside from "Renfield", Cage will be seen next in several movies including the Western movies, "The Old Way" and "Butcher's Crossing". Meanwhile Awkwafina's upcoming films include Apple's "Swansong" and the animated crime comedy, "The Bad Guys".
