21 May – Cher is finally getting the biopic she deserves, courtesy of Universal Pictures. ERIC ROTH IS GOING 2 WRITE IT." As explained by Cher, the upcoming movie will be penned by Eric Roth, known for his award-winning scripts including "Forrest Gump", "A Star is Born", and "Suspect" - the last movie starred Cher herself, while Judy Craymer and Gary Goetzman previously worked with Cher on the "Mamma Mia!" sequel.
No further details have been released about the upcoming film, though it will be the next star biopic following the success of movies like "Rocketman" (an Elton John biopic) and "Bohemian Rhapsody" (a film about Freddie Mercury). Aside from Cher, it was previously reported that there will be biopics for The Bee Gees, Whitney Houston, and Elvis.
