20 Jan –James Bond star Daniel Craig is set to attend the launch of Cambodia's first Safe Ground, an event that will be streamed on the UNDP-Cambodia Facebook page. The news was announced by the United Nations Development Programme on social media, which read, "Daniel Craig is coming to UNDP Cambodia to launch Cambodia's first #SafeGround on January 22."
Said Thuch, he is happy to have Craig helping to raise awareness of the impact of mines in Cambodia. The Safe Ground campaign will be launched in a small village in the Battambang province at Stoeng Toch Krom primary school, which is located on a former minefield. Last year, the country cleared more than 2,000 square kilometres of areas previously filled with mines and destroyed 1,095,750 anti-personnel mines, 25,488 anti-tank mines, 2,885,294 UXOs and cluster munitions.
