13 Apr – Despite the long gap after the last movie, it was revealed that the fourth instalment of Sylvester Stallone's action flick, "The Expendables" is currently in the works. The news of the movie being made came from co-star Randy Couture who plays the role of demolition expert Toll Road. Couture shared in an interview, "It sounds like we're gonna get to do [Expendables] 4. They've been kicking it around for a couple of years now but I've just recently heard from my agent that they're working on the script for [Expendables] 4 and they're planning to schedule filming for Expendables 4 for this or next fall."
He continued, "So I haven't seen the script yet. They had one a couple of years ago that they were talking about making Expendables 4 out of, and then it [the previous script] got away. You just never know, it's such a weird business sometimes..." It is noted that Stallone previously left the project in 2017, before coming back a year later for another instalment. However, it was halted several times since then.
No firm release date has been hinted at this time, what with the pandemic situation still not fully resolved. It also looks like cast member Terry Crews may not return following his refusal to adhere to the demands of producer Avi Lerner to drop his sexual assault allegations against Hollywood agent Adam Venit. Rather than beloved for its plotline, the "Expendables" franchise is known more for boasting a slew of action stars throughout its three movies that include Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Chuck Norris, Terry Crews, Steve Austin, Bruce Willis, Wesley Snipes, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Antonio Banderas and Mickey Rourke.
