26 Mar – It was revealed that Sony Pictures is set to produce a film adaptation of the PlayStation 4's 2020 action-adventure game, "Ghost of Tsushima". The upcoming film has been handed over to director Chad Stahelski, known for the "John Wick" franchise, with Alex Young and Jason Spitz from Stahelski's 87Eleven Entertainment, and Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan of PlayStation Productions to produce the said project.
"Chad Stahelski created something special with John Wick. His vision for what could be, backed up by years of experience, combined to create some of the finest action scenes ever created. If anyone could bring to life the razor-sharp tension of Jin's katana combat, it's Chad Stahelski." Loosely based on the first Mongol invasion of Japan in 1274, "Ghost of Tsushima" tells the story of samurai Jin Sakai (voiced by Japanese-American actor Daisuke Tsuji), who takes it upon himself to free the island of Tsushima after a disastrous loss to the Mongols. The video game has already been a critical and commercial success with over 6.5 million copies being sold since its debut last summer.
