Filming for Marvel movie "Thor: Love and Thunder" has begun in Sydney

3 Feb – Exciting news for fans of the superheroes from Marvel Studios because filming of "Thor: Love and Thunder" has reportedly commenced in Sydney, Australia, on Monday.

According to reports from Daily Mail, the two main actors - Chris Hemsworth, who plays the titular character Thor, and Chris Pratt (Peter Quill/Star-Lord) were seen on the filming location set at Centennial Park.

Photos of both the blockbuster stars were shared on social media through Twitter Marvel Stuff. What's even more exciting for the fans was that the stars were donning their new superhero costumes.

Last month, director Taika Waititi had recorded his gratitude to all Australians for the very warm welcome that's been given to him and his production crew to commence shooting in the country on his social media.

"Started "Love & Thunder" with Welcome to Country ceremony from Gamay dancers of Gadigal & Bidiagal Nation and karakia from Te Aranganui. I encourage all film makers to engage with 1st nations peoples whenever shooting your films. It's worth it and it's the right thing to do", he said.

"Thor: Love and Thunder" is the sequel to "Thor: Ragnarok" and is the fourth film in the "Thor" film franchise.

This time round, more focus will be accorded to the character of Jane Foster and her battle with cancer, and at the same time, how she transforms and gains the power of Thor. In addition to Hemsworth and Pratt, we can anticipate the return of stars such as Natalie Portman (Jane Foster/Thor), Christian Bale (Gorr the God Butcher), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Jaimie Alexander (Sif) and many more.

"Thor: Love and Thunder" will meet the fans at the cinemas on 6 May 2022.
