28 Jul – Netflix is at it again with their live-action remakes, this time with Pokémon. It was recently reported that "Lucifer" co-showrunner Joe Henderson is on board as writer and producer of the upcoming series, but that not much has been revealed for the time being except that it is currently in the earliest stages of development. However, it is believed that the series will resemble the 2019 film, "Detective Pikachu" starring Ryan Reynolds, in which real human actors are blended with CGI-created monsters.
It is noted that the 2019 movie previously made bank at the box office grossing over USD 430 million worldwide. Netflix has no comment regarding the said project. The streaming service already has a slew of Japanese anime live-action remakes on its roster, including "Death Note" and "Fullmetal Alchemist".
