18 May – A local film director has recently been fined for violating the COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) by conducting outdoor filming activities during the MCO.

The news was confirmed by Port Dickson District Police Chief Supt Aidi Sham Mohamed, who said that the 59-year-old filmmaker was issued a RM10,000 compound after police received a tip-off from the public regarding a movie that was being filmed outdoors at Jeti Penambang 2 in Bukit Pelandok near Seremban.

"The said individual should have been more sensitive to the SOP set by the National Security Council (MKN), which stated that filming is only allowed in the studio during the MCO period," he said.

He added that the police are taking serious action against any violation of the Aidil Fitri SOP set by the MKN in an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19.
