5 Aug – Dwayne Johnson's studio has recently confirmed two things - no, the actor will not return to the "Fast & Furious" franchise as he has recently stated, and yes, he may return to the sequel of its spinoff. Hiram Garcia, the president of Seven Bucks Productions, stated that Johnson has already made it clear back while they were filming the 8th instalment of "Fast & Furious 8" that he will not be doing the movie anymore. "He wished them all well and shifted our focus on to other story telling avenues. So while he will not be in F10 or F11, that won't in any way interfere with our Hobbs plans," he added.
Garcia stated that they have "specific plans" for what they want to do with the Hobbs character and believes that the fans are going to love it. "We're working to deliver something very unique and fresh and we know the studio is eager for us to get into it ASAP!" he added. It is noted that Johnson has been working non-stop since 2019, from promoting "Hobbs & Shaw" alongside co-star Jason Statham to doing "Jumanji: The Next Level", filming "Black Adam", to promoting "Jungle Cruise" alongside co-star Emily Blunt. However, the actor still has more projects to come, including the upcoming Netflix thriller, "Red Notice" and the DC animated feature, "DC League of Super-Pets".
