29 Sep – It looks like Mike Tyson is spreading his wings even further when it comes to his influence in Asia by being a part of the Indian action movie, "Liger". The news was shared by director Vijay Deverakonda himself on social media on 27 September, writing, "We promised you Madness! We are just getting started. For the first time on Indian Screens, joining our mass spectacle - #LIGER - the Baddest Man on the Planet, the God of Boxing, the Legend, the Beast, the Greatest of all Time! IRON MIKE TYSON!" Producer Karan Johar also expressed elation over the news, writing, "For the first time ever, the king of the ring will be seen on the big screen of Indian cinema. Welcoming [Mike Tyson] to the "Liger" team!"
Tyson reportedly will have a significant role in the upcoming movie, which will revolve around the subject of mixed martial arts. Aside from Tyson, the said multi-lingual movie reportedly will also feature several foreign fighters alongside familiar faces like Ananya Panday and Ronit Roy. It is noted that this is not Tyson's first rodeo as far as an Asian movie is concerned, having played a role in the previous "Ip Man 3" movie alongside Donnie Yen in 2015.
