8 Mar – Alec Baldwin recently expressed his frustration for the multiple lawsuits against him following the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of his now defunct movie, "Rust".

The actor, who was sued by Hutchins' family among others, told a moderator at the Boulder International Film Festival that "deep-pocket litigants" are being targeted rather than those who were potentially negligent in the incident.

"What you have is a certain group of people, litigants and whatever, on whatever side, who their attitude is, 'well the people who likely seem negligent have no money and the people who have money are not negligent,'" he said.

Baldwin stated that he has gone through his career without any incident, relying on the safety experts without any occurrences.

"Of course, this is to me sometimes it's, it's so surreal, I don't even know what to say," he added.

In a previous statement, Baldwin's lawyer dismissed the idea that the actor was reckless.

"When someone, whose job is to ensure the safety of a weapon, hands someone else, whose job is to be the secondary layer of protection for safety of a weapon, and they hand you that weapon, you declare that that weapon is safe," the actor continued. "That's how I've done it my whole life because you're not allowed as an actor to declare the weapon ... I mean, the joke is, you don't want the actors doing the safety check. They can't even make coffee, they're so stupid."

However, Baldwin expressed sadness for Hutchins' passing saying that the cinematographer was a lovely woman.

It was back in October last year that Hutchins and director Joel Souza were accidentally shot while Baldwin was demonstrating a cross draw - pulling a prop gun from a holster on the opposite side of his body from his draw hand. The scene also required him to point the gun toward the camera.

Souza sustained an injury to his shoulder, though Hutchins was declared dead.

Hutchins' family had since filed a wrongful death lawsuit naming Baldwin, the film's production companies, its producers, and other crew members, Deadline reported. In addition, a couple of the film's crew members have also sued the actor and other production figures.
