1 Jul – Cameron Diaz is coming out of her retirement to star in an upcoming Netflix film alongside Jamie Foxx.
The news was first shared by Foxx himself, who posted an audio clip of a phone conversation with Diaz on Twitter, writing, "Cameron, I hope you aren't mad I recorded this, but no turning back now. Had to call in the GOAT to bring back another GOAT."
"@CameronDiaz and I are BACK IN ACTION - our new movie with @NetflixFilm. Production starting later this year!!" he added.
In the said call, Diaz can be heard telling Foxx that she is excited about the project, but not sure how to do it.
Foxx then told Diaz that he had another man known for coming out from retirement, that is football player Tom Brady, to give her tips on how to reverse her previous decision.
The upcoming movie, titled, "Back in Action", is an action comedy that will be helmed by Seth Gordon of "Horrible Bosses" fame. The rest of the details are being kept under wraps.
Diaz, who is known for hit movies like "The Mask", "Bad Teacher", "Charlie's Angels", "There's Something About Mary" and the "Shrek" franchise, officially retired from acting back in 2018, following her performance in Will Gluck's "Annie" adaptation.
