22 Sept - After two years of waiting, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Kuala Lumpur organises a return of Czech award-winning films to the Kuala Lumpur cultural scene with the Czech Film Festival 2022. Since its inception in 2017, the Czech Film Festival continues to be a bridge of cultural exchange between Czechia and Malaysia. This edition is proudly presented by the Embassy of Czech Republic in Malaysia, with the support of longstanding collaborators and partners; Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC), Knowmad Productions and Cinema Online.
The main theme of the festival is a family comedy from the past fifty years. This theme was chosen not just to make everybody smile and lift up the spirits after two uneasy years but also to bring timeless and high quality films made in Czechia. Audiences will be entertained by the best Czech comedies, which are loved and cherished by many generations of Czech nationals.
Festival enthusiasts can look forward to the 3rd Czech Film Festival at Mid Valley Megamall in Kuala Lumpur from 23 to 25 September 2022. The screening is free of charge; and tickets are on a first-come, first-served basis from Friday Sept 16, 2022 onwards. Tickets can also be redeemed at GSC Mid Valley ticketing kiosk. The Embassy cordially invites Malaysians and the international public to take advantage of this cinematographic showcase from the Czech Republic.
