7 Feb – Good news all you R.L. Stine nostalgic fans. Disney Plus has now picked up a new "Goosebumps" TV series. According to Variety, the new version of the R.L. Stine books will revolve around a group of high school students who unleash supernatural forces upon their town and must all work together in order to save it, while learning much about their own parents' teenage secrets in the process. The upcoming series, which has been in the works since April 2020, has Nick Stoller and Rob Letterman serving as writers and executive producers. No news yet on casting.
It is noted that the show is the second live-action series based on the series of books from the said writer. The first anthology series were aired from 1996 to 1998 on the Fox Kids Network. The series of books were later turned into two film adaptations, "Goosebumps" (2015) and "Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween" starring Jack Black as the writer himself.
