15 Jun - Jennifer Hudson has finally received her final big accolade to become an EGOT. The singer-actress and now producer recently won a Tony Award as one of the producers of "A Strange Loop" - after the Broadway musical won Best Musical at the said event. It is noted that to join the EGOT club, one must win an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony. Hudson has already won all the other three - A Daytime Emmy for executive producing VR animation, "Baba Yaga", an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in "Dreamgirls" back in 2007, and two Grammys, including one for her debut R&B album.
Hudson also became only the second African-American woman to accomplish this aside from Whoopi Goldberg, and the fifth woman - after Rita Moreno, Helen Hayes, and Audrey Hepburn. Other EGOT accomplishers include John Legend, Scott Rudin, Tim Rice, and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
