29 Mar – Jessica Chastain is still feeling surprised over winning Best Actress at the Academy Awards.

The actress, who won for the first time for her performance in "The Eyes of Tammy Faye", took to Instagram a few hours after receiving her Oscar, sharing a "before and after" video, which also included a clip of her with the said accolade in one hand and a glass of champagne in another, smiling brightly as her entourage congratulated her.

"Was tonight real??" she wrote, "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

Looking almost unrecognisable as the titular televangelist-turned-LGBTQ activist in the movie, Chastain bested contenders that include Kristen Stewart and Olivia Colman to win Best Actress.

"In times like this, I think of Tammy and I'm inspired by her radical acts of love," Chastain said as she accepted her award. "I'm inspired by her compassion and I see it as a guiding principle that leads us forward."

Both fans and fellow celebrities alike took to the comments to congratulate her, including Jeremy Renner, Orlando Bloom, and her "Mama" co-star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, the latter who wrote, "Beautiful performance. Beautiful acceptance speech. Thank you for the movie."
