6 Oct – One of the biggest Thai hits in the post-pandemic era, "Love Destiny The Movie" is now showing in Malaysia.
The romantic-comedy, which broke the biggest opening day and weekend in Thailand back in July, recently became the highest grossing Thai movie of all-time in Vietnam, and dominated the box office in Laos.
Prior to that, it surpassed "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" in Thailand to become the biggest film at the Thai box office, earning approximately USD 10.19 million when it was released in July.
It is considered a rare success for Thai movies in this pandemic era, as no other local box office successes had reached the milestone in the past three years.
Directed by Adisorn Tresirikasem, the spinoff is set in the Rattanakosin period, hundreds of years after the events of the TV series, with original stars Ranee "Bella" Campen and Thanavat "Pope" Vatthanaputi playing different reincarnation of their previous drama in a tale of pre-destined love.
The original series has Renee playing Ketsurang, a modern-day history student who was transported into the King Narai era of the Ayutthaya Kingdom following a car accident, only to realise that she had woken up in the body of Karaket, a woman so loathed by everybody that even her fiancé, Det (Thanawat Wattanaputi) has no respect for her.
Don't miss this romantic-comedy as "Love Destiny The Movie" opens today in Malaysia.
