11 Oct - Margot Robbie is happy for Lady Gaga, who has been cast as Harley Quinn for the upcoming sequel to the critically-acclaimed "Joker". The actress, who has played the antihero/villainess in three movies since "Suicide Squad" in 2018, stated that she has always wanted for Harley Quinn to get passed from one great actor to another in the veins of "Macbeth or Batman".
"It's such an honour to have built a foundation strong enough that Harley can now be one of those characters that other actors get to have a go at playing. I think she'll do something incredible with it," she said.
It was back in August that the Mother Monster confirmed her casting in Todd Phillips' "Joker: Folie a Deux" opposite titular actor, Joaquin Phoenix. It was also reported that the sequel will be a musical. The movie is scheduled for release in October 2024.
