23 May – Margot Robbie is set to be Warner Bros. new favourite, after it was revealed that the actress is set to star in a new movie from the "Ocean's Eleven" franchise. The actress, who is also producing the project, will be playing the lead in the new film, which may be a prequel as it is set in Europe in the 1960s. Written by Carrie Solomon and to be directed by Jay Roach of "Bombshell" fame, the project is currently in active development and will begin production in spring 2023.
"Ocean's Eleven" was first released in 2001, stars George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Julia Roberts among others, and was a loose remake of the original 1960s heist film starring five of the Rat Pack - Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop. The Steven Soderbergh movie spawned two more sequels, and returned in 2018 with an all-female spinoff, "Ocean's 8" starring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter and Rihanna among others.
