16 Mar – Nicolas Cage recently revealed that he is interested to being a part of the Batman franchise - that is if he can play the villain.
And his choice of a Batman villain is obscure indeed.
Speaking to Fox 7 Austin at SXSW Film Festival, the actor, who was asked if he is open to doing any genres, stated that he would love to play Egghead in The Batman universe.
Said Cage, "Here's something, I've been thinking about this, because we have this new, Robert Pattinson as the Batman, which I haven't seen it yet, but I think he would be terrific, the villain that Vincent Price played on the '60s show, Egghead. I think I want to have a go at Egghead. I think I could make him absolutely terrifying. And I have a concept for Egghead."
"So let them know over at Warner Bros. I'm down for Egghead," he added.
Egghead who, you asked? As Cage explained, the said villain was an original creation for the Adam West 1966 Batman series and appeared in two episodes of Season 2 aptly titled, "An Egg Grows in Gotham".
Played by horror king Vincent Price, the character, whose name is Edgar Head, was a Batman villain who had an obsession with eggs and believes himself to be the world's smartest criminal.
