21 Sep – Here's good news to all of you anticipating Mani Ratnam's magnum opus, "Ponniyin Selvan" - you will not have to wait that long for the second part. The filmmaker, who appeared at a press conference in Chennai, shared with the media that the second part of the movie will be released in cinemas in six to nine months after the first movie. With "PS-1" releasing on 30 September, this means that the second chapter could be out sometime between March to June 2023.
The upcoming movie, based on the novel of the same name which tells the story of the early days of Arulmozhivarman who later became the great Chola Emperor Rajaraja Chola I, stars Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Lal and Sobhita Dhulipala among others. It marks Mani Ratnam's first movie since 2018's "Chekka Chivantha Vaanam" and his reunion with Aishwarya Rai and Vikram since 2010's "Raavanan".
