14 Apr – It looks like Adrian Teh's "The Assistant" is not the only Malaysian movie to be making its premiere at Udine's Far East Film Festival, as it was revealed that Kabir Bhatia's new horror, "Talbis Iblis" is also set to be in competition.

The good news was confirmed by lead actress Azira Shafinaz, who shared the movie's poster on social media, and wrote, "Ma shaa Allah, what a great news to start my week! My first baby (TALBIS IBLIS) movie will officially get its world premiere at Far East Film Festival in Udine, Italy."

"Kudos to the team @infinitusfilmsmy @gayapillai @syahrulimran & my amazing director @kabirbhatia_022. Finally, been waiting for this to come out! Oh my, nervousss. Hehe wish me luck loves," she added.

Hatching his evil plan?

According to producer Gayatri Su-Lin Pillai, the movie revolves around the deceit of the devil, a universal topic that feels very local to the Malaysian culture.

In the movie, Azira plays a woman who decides to leave Kuala Lumpur to give birth to her child out of wedlock, and is arranged to stay with a midwife. Unbeknownst to her, the said midwife has her own evil plan for her child.

Aside from Azira, the movie also stars Nasha Aziz, Zul Ariffin, and Amir Nafis.
